Folia ethnographica publishes original papers in the field of ethnology and bring new knowledge from the research work. The journal is focused on a traditional culture of the Czech lands, especially in the territory of Moravia. Individual topics are treated in the both historical continuity and conditions of the modern society as well as in inter-ethnical context and in the frame of Central European cultural nexus. Folia ethnographica was founded in 1986 as a continuation of Ethnographica (1974–1985), the former supplementum of Acta Musei Moraviae, Scientiae sociales (Časopis Moravského muzea, Vědy společenské). Folia ethnographica is a part of the international programme of scientific literature exchange and are sent to 50 related institutions throughout Europe. The articles are published in Czech or Slovak. They are always accompanied with an English abstract and German summary. All manuscripts are peer-reviewed.
